The Sunburn Series

A collection of artworks to coincide with my painting 'Sunburn', which is currently on display at The Royal Academy. 

As a figurative painter I wanted to explore the theme of 'Dialogue' using the male form. 

The simple background helps the viewer's attention to remain on the subject, emphasizing the reaction to the elements, with nods to both climate change and the vulnerability that humans often forget they indeed have, until it's often too late. 

I wanted 'Sunburn' to be both beautiful, raw and hopefully captivating. Examining the theme itself, whilst staying true with my practice of exploring the beauty and fragility of the male form.
