When I was about twenty I went to #prague. It was beautiful and spectacular but I only took black and white photographs....yes with a camera.
Well I decided to add some colour into one of them. Iv kept it loose as to be honest I prefer how a painting feels and the story it evokes which I find I lose in a tighter painting. Also the whole holiday is a blur.
I remember being drunk...and eating a lot of meat. So to speak.
Anyhow heres a little memory on a small canvas panel.
A collection of one off oil paintings on canvas boards. 12" x 10" in size. Full of rhythm and expression.
When I paint larger oil paintings I decided to use these smaller canvas boards as palettes to mix the paints and colours I required. What I was left with were truly beautiful expressive and quite abstract artworks. After looking into them I found I saw images and shapes which were unconsciously created. Brushstrokes and forms which created these naive and tactile collection.
I love the fact they are unplanned.
